Been wanting to go to the beach because it’s too hot here in Manila. We decided to go to Cagbalete Island.
Cagbalete Island is 1,640 hectare paradise that lies east of Quezon province. It is a perfect spot for those who want something different from Zambales or Batangas. This is also driving distance.
Since we’re bringing our own car, we met with friends at 3am in Quezon City. It took us around 4-5 hours, including fast stopovers, to get to Mauban, Quezon. In Mauban Port, there are parking spaces where you can park your car. It is safe since there are people guarding the vicinity. You just have to pay for the parking fee –
We rode an outrigger boat going to Cagbalate Island. We needed to register at the tourism office and pay the P50 environment fee. We rented a boat for 8-10 people for P4,000.
We docked at the island around 9am. A view of a long stretch of white sand and crystal clear waters greeted us good morning! It was beautiful.
NOTE: Make sure you get there in the morning, beacuse if it’s low tide, you have to walk for around 15-20 minutes from the other side of the island where the boats can dock.
We were required to pay for an entrance fee – P50. There are only a few resorts in Cagbalete – Dona Choleng, Pansacola, MVT Sto. Nino, and Villa Cleofas. You may opt to pitch your own tents for a fee starting at P200 or 250/night.
We stayed at Dona Choleng Camping Resort. rates and other accommodations at the bottom of the page.
We hung out for a while while waiting for check in time which was at 1pm. When our room was ready, we settled in, changed into our beach attires and explored the beach. Since it was already in the afternoon, it was already low tide. Still, we managed to enjoy each other’s company and the nice view we had despite the scorching heat of the noon day sun.
We had dinner afterwards and swam again, so we could experience the WATER! Lol.
It was really fun! A way to relieve all the stress at work.
Electricity is powered by a generator that runs from 6PM-6AM.
You can ask the staff to buy food from the market then they’ll just cook it. Please give them tips after.
