We’re very familiar about Zambales, so for a weekend trip, we opted to go there. Easy access, driving distance, and there’s a lot you can do.
2am – Departure
6am – Straight to Magalawa til lunch
1pm – Back to Liw-Liwa

We met at 2:00 AM at Mcdonald’s on the corner of EDSA and Quezon Ave. This has been our friends’ usualy meeting place.
We got to Magalawa, Zambales at around 7am. There are only 2 resorts in Magalawa – Armada Resort (0920 948 3303) and Ruiz Resort (09222688111). We opted to go for Ruiz since Armada wasn’t replying to my messages and calls that time until the day of our trip. Anyway, The people in Ruiz Resort were very accommodating. You can actually request them to cook meals given a certain budget. It was one whole island, we tried going to Armada’s side since it was more picturesque, but they didn’t allow us to go to that side of the island! We were asked to pay 90 pesos per person just to take pictures. So nevermind! But if you are a type of person who just loves pictures, I would probably tell you to book cottages in Armada resort. Their side of the island is more beautiful.
There’s really noothing much to do at Magalawa, We spent the day there, swimming, eating, and drinking. In the afternoon, we packed our stuff and headed to Liw-Liwa. Our friends are surfers so they love Zambales and its waves.
We checked in at Board Culture.
It was a really nice place with air conditioned cottages. You can also pitch your own tents and hammocks here. It had such a homey feel, very comfortable, with all the colorful grafittis and wall murals. Look for James +63916 516 1263 when booking or checking in, He’s really a nice guy!
One thing about this place though, you have to pay corkage fees when you bring in food to cook, and drinks. Although you can cook/grill outside the resort (near the beach) for free.
We cooked dinner and had a few drinks.
After that we had dinner at Fely’s silog meals. Prices range from P80-P100. They serve yummy fruit shakes too!
Day 3 – Free Day!!! Chill Day!
Our friends decided to go surfing this day. We also swam with them. LOL. We had such a nice time since we weren’t in a hurry to do anything or go somewhere. Everyone was just having fun.
